A trusted Korean bridge for overseas buyers.
uwonit global is a legal trade-introduction service operated from Seoul. We help international wholesalers, retailers, and distributors discover Korean products and connect with manufacturers, in their own language, without middleman markup.
Browse the curated catalog
We curate Korean products based on public bestseller data from Olive Young, Musinsa, Coupang, and KOTRA outbound lists. Each listing includes a wholesale (FOB) range when disclosed, MOQ, HS code, and known certifications.
Submit a match request
Tell us about your business, the quantity you want, target price, and delivery window. Submissions are reviewed by our Seoul-based team typically within 48 hours.
We approach the manufacturer in Korean
Our team contacts the Korean manufacturer directly with your brief. We never disclose your identity until they explicitly consent to the introduction.
Direct introduction over email
Once both parties consent, we send a warm introduction email. You negotiate price, terms, and logistics directly with the manufacturer.
You pay nothing to use uwonit global
We're paid by the Korean manufacturer separately, only after your first order ships and clears. No markup on their quoted price, no surcharge on your invoice. Fee terms with manufacturers are negotiated case-by-case and stay between us and the factory.
Free, end to end.
You see the Korean manufacturer's price, with no uplift from us. Our fee is settled separately with the factory after your first order clears.
Free to browse, free to submit match requests, free to use the introduction service. No markup on the manufacturer's quoted price.
Contract translation, customs broker referral, certification guidance — quoted per request, never bundled silently.
Never sourced from Korea before? Start here.
You don't need to be a trade expert to import from Korea — but a few decisions made early will save you weeks of confusion later. We won't act as your forwarder or customs broker, but we'll point you at the right questions and the right partners.
Agree on Incoterms
FOB (factory port) is the default for Korean exports. EXW (ex-works) lets you arrange pickup; CIF includes ocean freight + insurance to your port. Decide before negotiating price — the same unit price means different total cost under different Incoterms.
Check the HS code and your duty rate
Every product on the catalog shows a 6-digit HS code. Search your country's tariff database (e.g. USITC HTS for the US, TARIC for the EU) to confirm the import duty rate before committing.
Ask for FTA Certificate of Origin
Korea has FTAs with 59 countries (US, EU, ASEAN, UK, China, etc). With a valid Certificate of Origin from the manufacturer, you often pay 0% duty instead of the standard rate. Always ask — Korean exporters can issue this.
Plan payment terms
Common for first orders: 30% T/T deposit on order, 70% balance against B/L copy. For larger orders, a Letter of Credit (L/C) through your bank protects both sides. Avoid 100% prepayment with a brand-new supplier.
Line up your freight forwarder + customs broker
The Korean manufacturer handles export clearance from Korea. You hire a freight forwarder for ocean/air shipping, and a customs broker for import clearance in your country. We can suggest vetted Korean forwarders on request.
We are not freight forwarders, customs brokers, or financial intermediaries. We do not sell, ship, clear, or hold goods. All trade obligations remain between buyer and manufacturer. When you need those services, we suggest vetted Korean partners — they contract with you directly.
FAQ
Do you actually own the products?+
No. uwonit global is an introduction service. We do not buy, hold, or sell inventory. All trade is conducted directly between the buyer and the Korean manufacturer.
Why not contact manufacturers directly?+
You can — and many do. We add value by (1) curating which Korean brands and factories are export-ready, (2) approaching them in Korean from a Seoul-based team, and (3) handling matching agreements and English communication for partners with no export staff.
How is this different from Alibaba?+
Alibaba is generalized global B2B. uwonit global is Korea-specific, curated from real Korean retail bestsellers (not factories advertising on Alibaba), and operates as a brokered introduction — not a self-serve marketplace.
How is this different from KOTRA?+
KOTRA is the Korean government's trade promotion agency — free but slow and broad. We are a private, fast-response, niche operator focused on consumer goods (beauty, fashion, food, homegoods, electronics).
Are there any fees for buyers?+
No. You pay nothing to browse, submit match requests, or get introduced. There is no markup added to the manufacturer's quoted price. Our fee is negotiated separately with each Korean manufacturer and stays between us and the factory.
Do you handle customs clearance or shipping?+
No. Export clearance is handled by the Korean manufacturer's customs broker; import clearance is your side. We can recommend freight forwarders and customs brokers in Korea on request, but we never act as agent of record.
Do you help with the sales contract?+
We provide a standard Pro Forma Invoice / Sales Contract template at the introduction stage as a starting point. Both parties sign directly — uwonit global is not a party to the trade contract. Translation and legal review are available as paid options.
What if the manufacturer doesn't agree?+
About 30–40% of our outreach results in a successful match in the first round. If a manufacturer declines, we suggest similar products from the catalog and continue outreach.
